On the Road Again

Do you have travel plans this summer? Mark and I returned from our whirlwind book tour in CA at the end of April. We’re now in Ohio for our niece’s wedding and an Author Talk at a Christian school in Columbus, OH. One thought I shared with students this week came from a Hebrew proverb: “The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps” (Proverbs 16:9).

Although Mark and I drove almost 3,000 miles within the past three months to share my books with people, we saw that the friendships we made or renewed were more important than book promotions. As we planned our way and allowed God to direct our steps, the outcomes encouraged and renewed our spirits more  than we could have imagined.

As summer approaches, I hope you’ll experience times of renewal with friends and family that refresh and strengthen your ties with them in deep and abiding ways. Here’s a quote I recently pondered from someone who truly experienced her words. I’d love to hear your summer plans and what this quote means to you.

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.” –Helen Keller

PS – Don’t get me wrong, my passion for writing quality middle grade and young adult historical fiction remains strong. In fact, I need your help to keep my book cover for Yosemite Trail Discovered in the running as it battles its way to #1 this week and next. If you haven’t yet voted for my cover, please cast it at: https://allauthor.com/cover-of-the-month/

It is currently in the 21st slot with 86 votes. The #1 book currently has 269. Let your voice be heard both this week and next, and share the link with friends. The cover artist, Farhan, is from a 3rd world country. Having his artwork win “Cover of the Month” will not only boost his confidence, but his status in the world market as well. And, his work is truly amazing!
