6th graders at Tumwata Middle School , OR are studying the power of stories in telling history, and have asked me to answer questions they have about writing historical fiction. I'll meet with them online April 14 at 12:15pm Pacific Time. I'm looking forward to meeting these wonderful students! I just read an advanced copy of this lower elementary middle grade book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Kids need real-life heroes that made decisions at ages they are when they read the book. It moves quickly, keeps the reader interested, leaving them wanting to read more. Well-researched, this entertaining book will be an asset to any personal or schoollibrary.
